Dr. Linda Tomai Duong

More than a biography, this is the story of an ordinary girl whose life is defined by transition and resilience, and whose lived experiences shaped a lifelong commitment to human connection.

Dr. Linda Tomai Duong was born in Vietnam at the end of the war, a time when families were rebuilding their lives amid uncertainty. Her earliest impressions of the world beyond her homeland came through black and white television and photographs.

Those formative years instilled in her a deep awareness of how fragile stability can be, and how essential human support becomes when systems feel uncertain.

At fifteen, her life changed abruptly when she migrated to Sydney without English and without an established support system. Adapting to a new country demanded resilience, humility, and relentless determination.

Learning a new language while navigating a different culture sharpened her empathy and strengthened her resolve. Rather than allowing those early challenges to define her limits, she used them to expand her capacity.

That transition marked the beginning of a deeper personal search for happiness and purpose.

Over time, Linda pursued the dreams she carried as a young girl. Despite beginning again in a foreign country, she achieved the goals she set for herself through discipline and persistence. Her journey into personal development led her to formal life coach training in the United States, strengthening her ability to guide others with structure and insight.

She began her professional path in education as a teacher and later established a coaching practice in Sydney. Her work focuses on child and parental coaching, with particular interest in gifted education and emotional intelligence.

Through years of working closely with families, she recognised a defining pattern: parents often struggle to help their children reach their full potential if they feel they have not fulfilled their own. That realization deepened her commitment to supporting adults as well as children.

In 2017, Linda contributed her chapter “Follow Your Dreams” to If I Can, You Can – Winner’s Edition, sharing her personal story of perseverance. Her broader message remained consistent: spiritual growth, clarity of purpose, and aligned action reduce stress and cultivate inner peace.

Through years of guiding individuals from diverse backgrounds, she observed a recurring theme. Many people were successful by external standards, yet internally disconnected. They were surrounded by activity, yet lacking meaningful belonging.

This observation became central to her philosophy.

In 2021, she published her bestselling book, Connection: The Currency to Happiness, which expanded that message globally. The book positions connection, rather than external achievement, as the foundation of lasting happiness.

Following its release, Linda became a sought-after speaker at international and local events, including the Author’s Conference in Mexico, the Social Entrepreneur Empowerment Retreat in San Diego, and various leadership, education, and business forums in Sydney and beyond.

Yet her work did not stop with authorship or speaking.

Recognising that ideas must be lived, not simply discussed, she founded 3Hearts, a global initiative dedicated to strengthening authentic human connection and addressing loneliness and isolation.

She had just come across news of 2 kids who took their lives due to cyberbullying and a life coach who also committed suicide without notice. Those were 3 unique hearts lost.

Under her leadership, 3Hearts has grown into a network supported by ambassadors worldwide, creating intentional spaces where individuals can gather, speak openly, and feel genuinely heard.

Dr. Linda Tomai Duong’s leadership is grounded in lived experience. From migration and reinvention to education, coaching, authorship, and community building, each chapter of her life reinforces the conviction that Connection is foundational to human wellbeing.

Through her writing, coaching, and global initiatives, she continues to advance that belief with clarity, structure, and unwavering purpose.

And this is the legacy she invites you to join.
